Clearly, the sins that caused disunity had disrupted the early Philippine church – to such an extent that in Paul’s intimate letter to the Philippians he singles out two women whose disunity was potentially splitting the church and marring the church’s gospel witness in the world. The sadness of the women’s conflict was heightened because they both were former colleagues in ministry with Paul; they worked “hand and hand in the ministry with him and the rest of the gospel team in Philippi.” (3:3). Therefore, in the message this week, I want us to explore the common causes of disunity in the church and Paul’s prescriptions for a harmonious life in the Spirit together. Let us pray.
