The kind of faith God responds to is not the "faith" our secular culture decries. In fact, many in our secular culture who do not believe in the existence of a higher power (i.e., God), equate faith with magical thinking, illusions which are not based in truth, or facts or scientific evidence. This is last weeks sermon on James, "Faith and Works" but then James remind his readers of the Father of their faith when he emphasizes the priority of faith through Abraham's actions. James defends Abraham's action-proven faith.
